Fake News

Quick note: for what would be direct links to fake news, I’ll be linking the archived articles instead. This is so that said fake news can be preserved, so the article won’t be edited to cover up the mistakes/lying later on. It’s also so that the outlet in-question doesn’t get any ad revenue from their misleading articles.

Before we delve through examples, what is “Fake News”? Claire Wardle of First Draft News (a project to fight mis + disinformation online) identifies seven types of fake news:

  1. satire or parody (“no intention to cause harm but has potential to fool”)
  2. false connection (“when headlines, visuals or captions don’t support the content”)
  3. misleading content (“misleading use of information to frame an issue or an individual”)
  4. false context (“when genuine content is shared with false contextual information”)
  5. impostor content (“when genuine sources are impersonated” with false, made-up sources)
  6. manipulated content (“when genuine information or imagery is manipulated to deceive”, as with a “doctored” photo)
  7. fabricated content (“new content is 100% false, designed to deceive and do harm”)

Some of these will be used to categorise different examples of fake news below.

For the errors that these outlets have made, consider how many happen in a certain direction and are only corrected later on more quietly after the disinformation has spread—if it’s even corrected at all.

Media Dogpiling

This section will be dedicated to times when multiple outlets dogpile individuals, groups or organisations based on fake news.

Goldie Taylor, editor at The Daily Beast race-baits and lies in her article about Covington kids, claiming that ‘had it been my son—my black son—with a group of black and brown boys swarming, intimidating and taunting an elderly white man, the story would have been very different’: (

This all does not match up with footage from the scene, which clearly shows Nathan Phillips approach them with a loud drum at 1:12:27:

Notice how much of the racial language from the militant activists is not mentioned at all in this article, nor other related articles. Instead, hatred is directed at a group of kids who stood there smiling whilst an old man beat his drum and shouted in their faces:

This sort of disinformation has led to the kids involved receiving death threats, and a few being doxed; the death threats of which led to police being stationed on their campus: (

It’s worth noting that some conservatives were part of the dogpile at first too, but have apologized since: (

CNN falsely labels Democrat Governor of Virginia Ralph Northam as a Republican whilst they cover his racist old photo: (

This was corrected later: (

CNN analyst claimed that he overheard two Republican Senators who supposedly said ‘is this stuff real? I haven’t heard any of this before. I thought it was all about a server. If half the stuff Schiff is saying is true, we’re up shit’s creek. Hope the White House has exculpatory evidence.’, then admitted later after getting all the Twitter likes that he made it all up: +

CNN thinks they have an exclusive bombshell report, proving that the Trump campaign had exclusive access to the DNC emails before they were published on the internet; which would prove collusion between the Trump family, Wikileaks and Russia (US intelligence community thinks that Wikileaks is linked with Russian intelligence).

This was all based on an email from someone named “Michael J. Erickson” (CNN couldn’t identify this man), who sent this email ( ( to Donald Trump Jr. offering a decryption key giving access to DNC emails that Wikileaks uploaded. CNN claimed that it was dated September 4th, 10 days before these emails were leaked online which would suggest a special relationship for collusion: (

This was quickly debunked by the Washington Post, who pointed out it was sent on September 14th, when the documents were already public: (

CNN journalist responsible for this “breaking” news tweeted a correction and amended the article, but the damage was still done because they rushed out a story. This quiet correction doesn’t do much: (

CNN’s Brian Stelter claims that multiple sources provided him with ‘incorrect info’: (

CNN contributor Linda Sarsour responds to the murder of Shaima Alawadi, attempting to stir up trouble with a forged note saying “go back to your country, you terrorist”. This note was written by Alawadi’s husband to deflect from the fact that he murdered Alawadi in an honor killing by portraying it as a hate-crime. This was overlooked by Sarsour and she has neither apologised nor corrected her mistakes: ( (

CNN’s Chris Cuomo claims that it’s ‘illegal to possess’ WikiLeaks Clinton emails, documents from John Podestra’s inbox released daily just before the US election: (

These emails contained questionable material about Hillary and her campaign. Chris Cuomo arguably knew this and really didn’t want people looking for themselves:

CNN’s Chris Cuomo claims that the 1st Amendment doesn’t cover hate speech: (

Related government statistics: — 7.6/1000 & 6.1/1000 != 1 in 4. Still bad, though not nearly as bad as feminists desperately want it to be.

The Federalist is an outlet that espouses traditionalist values. Though you may disagree with these things, that doesn’t make them far-right.

According to Google Communications, ‘The Federalist was never demonetized’ … ‘We worked with them to address issues on their site related to the comments section’:

The Young Turks (TYT)

The Young Turks is a “progressive” news/opinion show that was started in 2002, making it the longest-running political talk show in the world. It has been included here as they often act as if they’re a news outlet.

According to Paste Magazine, the name was chosen because it is a ‘seemingly innocuous colloquialism’:

According to Uygur, ‘Young Turks means young progressives looking to overthrow the established system’: (

However, this doesn’t match up. Before establishing The Young Turks as a news/opinion show, Cenk had a personal website by a similar name; “” where he made sexist and creepy comments. He dismissed these comments later as being from when he was a conservative, meaning that the name probably didn’t come from the colloquial term referring to young “progressives” overthrowing the establishment: (

This has still stirred a great deal of controversy as the show shares the same name with the original Young Turks movement who committed the Armenian Genocide:

As well as this, in 1991 Cenk Uygur wrote an article for The Daily Pennsylvanian where he promoted Armenian Genocide denial:

Cenk also sent a response letter into Salon in 1999 claiming ‘After investigating the issue, [Cenk’s professor] came back and said that he could not find one non-Armenian scholar who believed this was a genocide, but since “it looked like a duck, it walked like a duck and it talked like a duck, it must be a duck.” If that’s not the product of excellent propaganda, I don’t know what is.’: (

Cenk’s blog post on this:

Cenk has since distanced himself from his comments in 1991 and 1999, stating in 2016 that ‘My mistake at the time was confusing myself for a scholar of history, which I most certainly am not. I don’t want to make the same mistake again, so I am going to refrain from commenting on the topic of the Armenian Genocide, which I do not know nearly enough about’:

More on this controversy: (

‘The Young Turks’ Progressive Founder Urged His Staff Not To Unionize’: (

The Young Turks often complains about various organisations like Learn Liberty being funded by the Koch brothers, but this ignores TYT’s funding:

A fantastic Medium post delving into more detail on where some of this corporate funding comes from:

TYT has also partnered with AJ+ (Al Jezeera):

AJ+ & Al Jezeera) are funded by the Qatari government: (

Al Jezeera is freqently criticized as a propaganda outlet, for its manipulation of coverage to suit Qatar’s political interests: (

More examples can be found here: (

Co-founder Cenk Uygur has claimed without a source that TYT is targeted at the 60% of Americans who hold “progressive” views: (

However, only 8% of Americans are “progressives”:

The Young Turks puts out a poll with the question ‘Do you support a federal ban on assault weapons?’. It backfires, with 85% of people out of 664.6k voters voting “No”: (

Cenk Uygur of TYT defends Anthony Weiner from allegations of sexting a minor (Rachel Maddow from MSNBC did this too):

Cenk Urgur claims Sarah Palin said ‘BLM aren’t people’ when she said ‘peaceful’:

Even HuffPo heard it as ‘peaceful’, suggesting Cenk had his mind elsewhere: (

The BBC is a state-owned broadcaster supported mainly by TV licences which are a requirement for British residents: (

Also interesting to note: ‘culture produced by women or people of color is seen as specific to their gender or racial identity.’

This is a sentiment created by these regressive-types, through continuous identity politics. In other words, Valenti is whining about a symptom when those obsessives like her created the problem.

Worth noting: ‘Along with schools, the NRA Foundation also gives millions of dollars a year to local gun clubs, Boy Scout chapters, churches and agriculture programs. The NRA Foundation has provided more than $335 million in grants since 1990.’

It also neglects to mention that Kevlar sheets donated by the U.S. Army’s JROTC program were used to shield a group of ~60 students from potential gunfire: (

As well as the two JROTC members who helped save these kids:
